Information we as Tax Agents are required to Disclose to You


As a Tax Agent , our work for you is performed in accordance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009. Under this Act, the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024 requires that we make the following disclosures to you:


  1. Matters that could significantly influence your decision to engage us (or continue to engage us) for a Tax Agent Service from 1 July 2022 onward include the following:

  2. The Tax Practitioner’s Board maintains a register of Tax Agents and BAS Agents. You can access and search this register here: https://www.tpb.gov.au/public-register


  3. If you have a complaint about our Tax Agent services, you will need to contact your Accountant in the first instance with details by email. If they are unable to resolve your complaint within 3 business days, please contact Mitchell Clark, Principal, by email. Your complaint will be investigated by Mitchell Clark. We will provide you with email acknowledgement of receipt of your complaint and our understanding of the circumstances. The email will inform you that we will attempt to resolve your complaint with 14 days and will outline the dispute resolution process. If you are unhappy with the outcome that we propose to you, you can then make a complaint to the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) using the link listed above. The TPB will send you an email to acknowledge the receipt of your complaint and review and risk assess your complaint. If you are unhappy with how the TPB has dealt with your complaint, the above link includes details about your review rights and who can further assist you.

This Privacy Policy explains how Wright Partners manages personal information in connection with our accounting, taxation, and advisory services.

 

Although Wright Partners is exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) under the small business exemption (annual turnover of $3 million or less), we voluntarily align our practices with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) to ensure transparency, accountability, and the protection of our clients’ information.

 

This policy applies to all personal information we collect and hold, whether electronically, on paper, or verbally.

We do not purchase personal information from list brokers or collect it through unrelated competitions or marketing campaigns.

  • Cybersecurity to protect against unauthorised access and potential breaches to online data
  • Secure office premises and restricted staff access

We store information using third-party Cloud Computing provided by Amazon Web services (AWS) which is based in the USA and Cloud Computing provided by Account-Kit which based in Australia.

 

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to meet our business, legal, and regulatory obligations.

 

5. Why We Collect, Hold, Use, and Disclose Personal Information

We collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information for purposes including:

  • Providing accounting, taxation, and advisory services
  • Managing client relationships and communications
  • Meeting legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., under tax laws)
  • Internal administration and risk management

We do not sell personal information.

 

We disclose personal information only:

  • Where required by law (e.g., to the ATO, ASIC, courts)
  • To service providers engaged to support our operations (e.g., IT support, auditors), under strict confidentiality
  • With your consent, or as reasonably expected for the delivery of our services

 

We do not currently disclose personal information overseas.
